Accessibility approach

DOT aims to support the accessibility requirements relevant to the European Accessibility Act and work toward WCAG 2.2 Level AA. Accessibility is treated as an ongoing process that includes design, development, content and periodic review.

Current accessibility features

• Keyboard-accessible navigation, links, forms, accordions and controls
• A skip link that moves directly to the main content
• Visible focus indicators and adequately sized interactive controls
• Semantic headings, landmarks, form labels and accessible control names
• A pause control for continuously moving content
• Responsive layouts supporting text zoom and different screen sizes
• Reduced-motion, increased-contrast and forced-colour preferences
• Decorative icons hidden from assistive technology

Standards and testing

The site is designed with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.2 as its technical reference. Automated checks are useful but do not replace keyboard, screen-reader and human usability testing, which should be repeated as the site changes.
